From South Coast Plaza
South Coast Plaza’s restaurant collection will soon be enhanced by the openings of two chef-driven restaurants, Knife Pleat and The Hall Global Eatery. Knife Pleat, located in the Penthouse, will open for dinner in June and will begin lunch service in July. Michelin-starred chef Tony Esnault and wife-partner Yassmin Sarmadi are well known in Los Angeles by sophisticated diners and will bring an elegant but approachable take on contemporary French cuisine within a beautifully designed space in the Penthouse at South Coast Plaza.
Chef Amar Santana and business partner Ahmed Labbate, longtime friends of South Coast Plaza beginning with Charlie Palmer and now with their current hotspot, Vaca, near Segerstrom Center for the Arts, will unveil the 8,000-square-foot The Hall Global Eatery later this summer. The concept will provide delicacies from around the world, with a cafe offering baked goods, coffee, sandwiches, salads and fresh juices; Mediterranean fast-casual perfect for lunch; and a crudo and charcuterie bar with craft cocktails and full-service dining, as well as retail gourmet foods.
