Restaurants: Pasta giant Barilla opens first 2 West Coast restaurants at South Coast Plaza and USC
The company, founded in Italy 1877, is opening its first two fast-casual Italian eateries in Southern California this month.
Casa Barilla opens Monday, Nov. 6 at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.
The 2,600-square-foot South Coast Plaza restaurant is taking over part of the space once occupied by Rainforest Cafe, directly below Din Tai Fung near Sears.
The restaurants serve made-to-order pasta dishes, pizzas and salads. The South Coast Plaza and USC restaurants mark Barilla’s march West.
The restaurants are designed with exhibition kitchens to showcase Barilla’s commitment to making high-quality Italian dishes that follow a good-for-you Mediterranean diet.
