South Coast Metro Hotels Send Heartfelt Wishes Amid Challenges of COVID-19
SOUTH COAST METRO, Calif., April 24, 2020 – Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, hotels in South Coast Metro, Orange County’s Urban Center, will be sending out a nightly message of LOVE and HOPE in the form of HEARTS shaped by lights glowing inside guestrooms, officially starting Monday night, April 27 at 8:00 PM and running through Friday night.
Participating South Coast Metro hotels include Avenue of the Arts Costa Mesa, Crowne Plaza Costa Mesa Orange County, DoubleTree By Hilton Orange County Airport, Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa, and The Westin South Coast Plaza.
The DoubleTree By Hilton Santa Ana – Orange County Airport has illuminated the word HOPE in its windows. While the Courtyard Costa Mesa South Coast Metro was not tall enough to have a heart in its windows, the hotel orchestrated the recent donation of 500 face masks to Kaiser Santa Ana. “So glad we had them. They were here within 10 minutes to pick them up,” said Julie Buettner, general manager.
“We join our fellow hotels in hoping for a fast recovery, and look forward to guests enjoying our new gatehouse lobby,” said Residence Inn Costa Mesa Newport Beach General Manager Sue Cooke. Courtyard by Marriott Santa Ana is open and accepting reservations.
“DoubleTree Santa Ana Orange County Airport has been part of this community for 19 years,” said Jason Cure, general manager, DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Ana/Orange County Airport. “In addition to supporting our team members during this time, we also felt compelled to share our voice with our community. For us HOPE is the emotion we are feeling everyday as we pray for the health of every global citizen and of our own DoubleTree family. We hope and look forward to welcoming our team members, guests and community back.”
When guests return to Metro hotels in greater numbers, they will find safe and inviting spaces to enjoy that have undergone enhanced cleaning protocols. Many have also completed significant refreshes. For example, true to the hotel’s brand theme, Travel Brilliantly, the Costa Mesa Marriott has completed a multi-million dollar transformation to fully revitalize guestrooms, pool areas, Concierge Lounge and the Great Room.
“The hotels in the South Coast Metro have always been focused on the wellbeing of their guests and neighbors,” said South Coast Metro Executive Director Diane Pritchett. “They are open during this crisis and want to express their heartfelt thanks and best wishes to all of the first responders and other essential personnel going above and beyond the call of duty as we persevere through the pandemic and emerge stronger on the other side.”
